Natural Hair care
Just like our body and our skin, we need to look after our hair and keep it healthy and nourished. We can do this by switching to a natural hair care regime. Toxic ingredients, such as parabens, alcohol and sulfates, that are in hair care products can be harmful and damaging to our hair and scalp. What we put on our hair is absorbed through our scalp, and into the bloodstream. If you wash your hair daily, you are getting a daily dose of toxicity.
Natural hair care products that contain only naturally derived ingredients are kind and gentle to the hair and scalp. They also contain ingredients that are nourishing for the hair, keeping it healthy and shiny. Certain natural ingredients target certain hair issues. For example, aloe vera or shea butter are particularly good at aiding dry or frizzy hair.
the best natural ingredients for hair
1. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has many benefits for the hair, and is one of my favourite ingredients for hair care. It’s hydrophobic, meaning it repels water. Therefore, it’s able to deeply penetrate the hair. It has also been shown to reduce protein loss caused by blow drying and brushing.
Curly and frizzy hair can particularly benefit from coconut oil, as it hydrates the hair, and keeps curls soft and smooth.
