Almond Milk
Recipe
Store bought almond milk usually only contains around 2% almonds. The rest is made up with water, flavourings and fortified vitamins. So, why not make your own. It’s quick and easy, and you’ll be getting real nutritional benefits.

Let’s go through the steps:

step 1:
Fill a bowl with almonds, (as pictured) and cover with water to soak over night.
step 2:
The next day drain the almonds, and put into a blender along with 750ml of cold water, and blend until smooth.
If you like your almond milk a bit sweeter, you can also add a little maple syrup.

step 3:
Pour the mixture into a muslin-lined sieve over a jug and allow it to drip through. Stir the mixture gently with a spoon to speed up the process.
step 4:
When most of the liquid has gone through into the jug, gather the sides of the muslin together and squeeze tightly with both hands to extract the last of the milk.
