
Essential Oil Blends
This post will cover a few of my favourite essential oil blends.
Essential oils bring us many health benefits as discussed in previous posts (see bottom of page). Each oil contains its own unique health and healing benefits. Which is a bonus, as we can then bring different essential oils together to create our own unique healing blends.

fatigue fighter
Feeling tired? Didn’t get a good nights sleep? Then this is the perfect blend for combating fatigue. Boost yourself and your day with this solution.
Ingredients
4 Drops Bergamot
2 Drops Grapefruit
1 Drop Peppermint
directions
Add to your diffuser with the correct amount of water, or add to a relaxing warm bath.
headache relief blend
Get relief from headaches, migraines and tension in the head with this soothing headache relief blend.

1 Drop Wintergreen
4 Drops Lavender
2 Drops Peppermint
2 Drops Frankincense
1 Drop Cilantro
1 Drop Roman Chamomile
1 Drop Marjoram
1 Drop Basil
2 Drops Rosemary
If you don’t have all of the above essential oils, don’t worry, just add the ones that you do have.
Directions
Add to your diffuser with the correct amount of water, add to a warm bath, or alternatively using a roll-on applicator, apply to temples, forehead and the back of the neck.
If applying using a roll-on applicator, use with caution. Constant repeated use can cause contact sensitization. Also use with caution during pregnancy.

Aromatherapy Pendant Necklace
Different essential oils have different healing properties and uses. Let’s now take a look at which essential oils are good for which ailments.
ANTI-AGING
Frankincense – Known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-infectious properties. This oil helps protect the skin from harmful microbes, and it’s also soothing to the skin and nerves.
Hawaiian Sandalwood – Shown to protect the skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV-b) radiation. Also helps with skin regeneration and preventing skin infections and acne flare ups.
Lavender – Helps with skin conditions related to dry skin. Reduces inflammation and allergic reactions in the skin. Helps skin heal from burns and scars.
Myrrh – Known for its anti-inflammatory properties. it’s also used to fight bacterial, fungal and viral infections of the skin. Used to sooth the skin, and helps with dry, chapped or cracked skin.
Helichrysum – Makes a great natural sunscreen, helps relieve skin conditions, and is good for tissue regeneration, pain relief, and healing.
Rose – Can help stop the breakdown of collagen in the skin preventing sagging skin and wrinkles. Used to prevent scarring.

Lavender – Known for its calming and relaxing properties. May reduce depression and anxiety.
Roman Chamomile – Calming and relaxing properties. Shown to relieve muscle tension as well as calm nerves and emotions.
Ylang Ylang – Calming and sedative properties. Can bring feelings of self-love, joy, confidence and peace.
Hawaiian Sandalwood – Calming and sedative properties. Can help balance emotions and ease nervous tension.
digestive oils
Ginger – Calming influence on the digestive system. Can help with nausea and motion sickness. It’s also great for warming and uplifting.
Peppermint – Beneficial for vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, motion sickness, and counteracting food poisoning.
Tarragon – Helps with flatulence, intestinal spasms, nervous and sluggish digestion and urinary tract infections.
Fennel – Can help improve digestion by supporting the liver.
Joyful and Uplifting
Lavender – Helps improve feelings of depression and anxiety.
Orange – Helps overcome depression. Improves low mood by bringing peace to the mind, and happiness and joy to the mind and body.
Tangerine – Has sedative properties. Which means it’s good for calming and relieving feelings of stress whilst boosting energy.
Elemi –Has antidepressant and sedative properties. Helps relieve stress and calming the nerves.
Lemon/Lemon Myrtle – The strong lemon aroma is elevating, invigorating, enhancing and warming.
Melissa – Has an uplifting aroma. Helps with anxiety and depression.
Ylang Ylang – Calming and relaxing. Brings feelings of confidence, joy, peace and self-love.
Hawaiian Sandalwood – Has calming and sedative properties. Known to balance emotions and helps ease nervous tension.
Massage Oils
Basil – Anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties. Great for relaxing muscles.
Grapefruit – Calming and sedative benefits. Helps with fatigue and stress.
Lavender – Antispasmodic and analgesic properties. May help with sprains, sore muscles, headaches and general healing.
Peppermint – Anti-inflammatory properties which can help nerves and reduce inflammation in damaged tissue. It’s soothing and cooling to the systems of the body.
Cypress – May help relieve muscle cramps and improve overall circulation.
Eucalyptus – Treats aches and pains.
Health Protection
Orange – Powerful disinfectant that is very effective at fighting cold and flu viruses. Antibacterial,` antidepressant, antifungal and antiseptic properties.
Cinnamon – Powerful purifier. Cleanses and purifies the air as it is released in steam, killing germs and bacteria. Also used to relieve nausea, boost the immune system and reduce high blood pressure. Antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiparasitic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral.
Eucalyptus – Known to keep colds at bay. Stimulates circulation and warms the body. Helps relieve sinus congestion, and works as an antiseptic.
Ginger – Helps relieve cold, congestion, coughs, fevers, flu.
Tea Tree – Antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties. Helps alleviate chest and head congestion, stuffy nose, cold and flu viruses.
Rosemary – Antiseptic and anti-infectious properties. Helps improve circulation and stimulating the nerves.
Bug Repellants
Citronella – Insect repellant and insecticidal.
Lemongrass – Insecticidal to many insects. Strong insect repellant.
Eucalyptus – Insecticidal against cockroaches, ants, and headlice.
Hawaiian Sandalwood – Widely used historically to repel insects.
Cedarwood – Insecticidal against mosquitos and other common household insects.
Catnip – Repels flies and other insects.
Rose – Repels indoor insects.

Clary Sage – Helps balance estrogen and other hormones. Helps relieve PMS symptoms.
Lavender – Soothing and calming properties help relieve emotional tension associated with PMS.
Cedarwood – Calming and helps sooth nervous tension.
