Benefits of Raw Milk for the Skin
Ever wonder why the ancient Greeks loved a milk bath? Well, there are many benefits of raw milk for the skin. It can do wonders for our health, hair and skin. When talking about raw milk, we’re not talking about the milk you buy from your local store. Milk from the store has been pasteurised, and we need raw milk. Milk as it comes, straight from the cow. You can buy raw milk from farm shops or online.
Some of the nutrients in raw milk include Vitamins, lactic acid, biotin, collagen, calcium, magnesium, selenium, potassium and protein. All of which are beneficial for our skin. It can be deeply nourishing leaving it with a healthy glow. Hence why milk is a popular ingredient in many moisturising creams.
Raw milk can help with acne and dry skin. It makes a great moisturiser and exfoliator. It can also draw out excess sebum from within skin pores, which tightens the pores curing and preventing oily skin.
some of the main benefits of raw milk for the skin
Curing Acne and Acne Scars
Loaded with vitamins that are good for the skin, raw milk contains vitamins and minerals that are essential to fight off acne. It also contains lactic acid, which fights off microbes that cause acne.
It also has vitamin B12 which is especially good for balancing out uneven skin tone, helping with skin discolouration and acne scars.
Reduce Fine Lines and Wrinkles
The magnesium in raw milk helps not only with collagen production, it also helps with reducing and preventing fine lines and wrinkles. There are also vitamins such as vitamin D and calcium that promote skin elasticity, tightening and firming the skin.
Exfoliate Skin Cells
Exfoliation is a must if you want a healthy complexion. As we age our body doesn’t produce as many new skin cells as it once did, and old skin cells layer up on the skin, which ages us. Exfoliating scrubs away these old skin cells, allowing for the ones to come to the surface.

Add raw milk gradually until it forms a thick consistency
Using fingertips apply to face
Leave on for 10-15 minutes
Rinse off using warm water

This exfoliating mask will get rid of dead skin cells, leaving the skin silky smooth.
Soothe Sunburn
Applying raw milk to sunburnt skin can help relieve and soothe the effected areas. Milk has a cooling effect which can help reduce inflammation of the skin as a result of sunburn.
Skin Cleanser
We can use raw milk as a skin cleanser. It’s great at unclogging pores. Clogged up pores can lead to blackheads and acne breakouts. Using milk as a cleanser will not only help clear clogged pores, it will reduce the size of the pours. Many skin experts suggest using raw milk regularly for cleansing the skin, for a healthy, glowing complexion.
To use as a skin cleanser, simply wash and pat dry the face. Pour some raw milk onto a cotton pad, and use to cleanse the face.
Moisturise Skin
Biotin contained in raw milk makes it a great moisturiser. The moisturising properties in raw milk can help with dry, flaky or cracked skin. It’s good for moisturising the face and the body. Why not add some into your bath?
Skin Toner
Not only is it a skin cleanser, it’s also an excellent skin toner. The properties of raw milk are good for dealing with oily skin, and can effectively remove dirt deep from within the pores.
Some people even swear by using it as a make-up remover. Using it as make-up remover pulls all the built up make-up out of the pores and leaves the skin soft and healthy.
